How to Use the Dashboard

A guide to every chart on the Dashboard and how to tailor it to your organisation

The Dashboard gives you a live, at-a-glance view of your organisation's risk and security data. It brings together charts from Risk Assessments, Treatments, Threats, Tasks, Issues, Incident Reports, and external intelligence feeds on a single page.

This article covers the following topics:

The Dashboard Overview

The Dashboard is the first page you see after signing in. You can return to it by clicking the Dashboard icon () at the top of the left-hand menu.

Here are some points to keep in mind:

  • The Dashboard is organisation-wide and customised by platform administrators.

  • You can use the various filters and charts to track performance within your areas of responsibility and manage tasks.

  • The data displayed on the module is based on data availability and your access permissions. You may find that some charts don't display data or are inaccessible due to the modules/ divisions you have access to.

  • The Dashboard can directly link you to details. You will find this in charts related to Tasks, Issues, and Custom Reports. The icon is available to the far right of the title of each Task, Issue and Report ().

Filters and Reading Chart Data

There are different filters you can use to view data from different angles. They are available in 2 main sections on the page.

Filter by Division

Divisions are a core feature on the platform that help manage data and access. All the information you can see on Human Risks is determined by the Divisions you have been given access to, and those you have selected in the filter.

  1. Click Select Division(s) in the top navigation bar.

  2. Tick the divisions whose information you want to see. Expand a division with the arrow to select individual sub-divisions, or search by name.

  3. Use Select all or Deselect all to change your selection quickly. Both of these actions will provide the same results.

The selector shows how many divisions are selected (for example, 3 divisions selected). Click the x in the selector to clear it.

Filter by Compliance Lens

Use Compliance Lens to filter and show data related to a specific compliance framework (external or internal), or some tags that your organization has specified. The example you see here uses the Critical Entities Resilience (CER) Directive.

  1. Open the Compliance Lens dropdown.

  2. Search for and select the lens you need.

💡 To read more about the Compliance Lens Feature, click here.

Widgets that respond to the lens display a small tag with its name (for example, CER) next to the widget title. To remove the lens, click the x in the dropdown.

Filter by Date

You can set a date range in two ways:

  • Start Date and End Date: pick a custom range from the calendars.

  • Specific Reporting Period: for a quick preset, click 24 Hours, Last Week, Last Month or Last Year.

Once a date filter is set, a tag appears in the top right corner of the widget, providing more information on whether and how it is affected by the date filter that has been applied.

You can expect to see labels such as 'Current' (implying that the widget is unaffected by dates), 'Due' or 'Submitted' within the set time range, or 'Next 12 months' showing you dates into the future.

You can add both a Compliance Lens and a Date Filter simultaneously. If your widget size has been reduced, you will be able to hover over the filter icon () that appears instead of the labels to see what filters have been applied.

Reading the Charts

  • Each chart and widget has a title and an accompanying description of the chart's data (found under the chart title).

  • Doughnut charts and stacked bar charts have an accompanying legend that you can refer to.

  • Hover over any of the chart elements such as the pie share in doughnut charts, the nodes in the line charts or each section in the bar charts to view the exact numbers. You can also hover over any text or pills that have been reduced for space to see the details.

  • Widgets containing lists (My Tasks, Open Tasks, My Findings, etc.) have links against their titles () that will lead you to their respective details.

  • After applying filters, look for the labels on the charts (based on compliance lenses and dates) to understand how the data has been affected by the filters you've applied.

  • External Intelligence charts are not affected by the Compliance Lenses and Divisions.

Customising the Dashboard

Platform Administrators can add widgets and arrange them to cater to various stakeholders and priorities in the organisation. The layout chosen by the administrator applies to the organisation as a whole.

To begin customising the Dashboard, click on Edit (the pencil icon ).

Adding and Removing a Widget

Click on the plus symbol to open the widget selector. The widgets are arranged by various elements in the Risk Assessments Module (Threats, Treatments, Issues) and by the other modules you have access to.

You will also see some widgets for External Intelligence Providers if you have access to these.

Scroll through the catalogue and select the widgets you would like displayed on your dashboard. When you're ready, click 'Add.'

If you'd like to add more at a later time, the list will show you which widgets have already been added.

Moving and Resizing a Widget

Once your widgets have been added, you can move each chart around on the grid until it reaches the desired position. To move the chart, you can either click on the 6 dots ()on the top left corner of your widget and drag to the new position, or click on the white space next to the chart title and drag the widget.

Editing and Renaming a Widget

Each of your widgets can be edited in the following ways:

  • The title can be renamed.

  • The description can be edited to match your organization's language more closely.

  • You can input both of these in the different languages that the platform provides to host your stakeholder base.

To get started, click on the pencil icon () on the top right of your chosen widget. You will then see a window like the one below.

The example here is with the widget titled 'Key Threat Categories.' Add the new title and description in the text areas provided.

To customize titles in another language, click on the language dropdown that is marked with the current language you have set it to and choose from English, Danish, Spanish, French, Turkish and Chinese. Proceed to fill out the Title and Description.

When you're ready, click Save.

Saving and Discarding Changes

Once the dashboard is to your liking, remember to save your changes. You can do this by clicking on the tick mark icon on the top right of the page (), above the filters.

Discard your changes with the x icon located in the same area ().
