A compliance lens is a saved set of filters that narrows the charts in the Dashboard Module to the data relevant to a regulation, standard or internal policy, such as the Critical Entities Resilience (CER) Directive or ISO 27001.
The feature also works as a tagging system, allowing a filtered view of assessments, threats, issues, etc. that are critical to your organization.
Lenses are set up once on the Organization Module and shared across your organisation, so anyone can apply them on the Dashboard Module.
This article is split into 3 sections:
Compliance Lenses and the Dashboard
This section covers how to apply lenses on the dashboard and who can apply them. What a Lens Filters

Compliance Lenses and the Dashboard
Compliance Lenses can be used only on the Dashboard Module to filter the associated records for now.
All users can apply the configured lenses.
Click the Dashboard icon (
) at the top of the left-hand menu.If the filter bar is hidden, click Hide Filters (the funnel icon in the toolbar
) to show it.Open the Compliance Lens dropdown. It reads No filter when no lens is applied.
Search for and/or select the lens you need.
The widgets that are affected by the lens will refresh to reflect the filtered data.
Widgets that the lens affects show a small tag with the lens name next to the widget title. Hover over the tag to see which lens is applied. Widgets without the tag show the same data as with no lens.
To remove the lens, click the x in the Compliance Lens dropdown, or click Reset Filters (the circular arrow icon
) to clear the lens and the date filters together.
Note: The lens works together with the other filters on the page. Your selected divisions and reporting period still apply, and you only see records your role, modules, and divisions give you access to. Your choice of lens is remembered in your browser until you change it.
What a Lens Filters
A Lens can be associated with different records such as Risk Assessments, Incident Reports, Issues, Threats, and more. Each group in a lens only affects the widgets in the matching section of the widget library.
Lens group | Fields you can filter on | Widgets it affects |
Risk Assessments | Country, Site Category, Risk Score | Risk Assessment widgets |
Threats | Templates | Threat widgets |
Treatments | Templates | Treatment widgets |
Tasks | Status, Priority | Task widgets, including My Tasks and To Do List |
Issues | Status, Category, Severity Levels | Issue widgets, including My Issues |
Incident Reports | Category, Type | Incident Report widgets |
If a filter includes stipulations across multiple fields, the resulting data set is the data that matches all the set criteria.
Illustration
A lens named Critical Sites, Actions and Findings holds Risk Assessment Site Category (Critical and Major), Task Priority (Critical) and Issue Severity Levels (High and Critical). When you apply it on the Dashboard:
Risk Assessment widgets show only critical and major sites.
Task widgets show only critical priority tasks, from all sites.
Issue widgets show only high and critical issues, from all sites.
Threat and Treatment widgets show the same data as with no lens, because the lens holds no fields in those groups.
Widgets from external intelligence feeds (Seerist, Seerist Maritime and Riskline) and Custom report widgets show the same data whichever lens you apply.
Setup and Management of Compliance Lenses
Lenses are managed in the Compliance Lenses section of the Organization Module. To open it, click the Organization icon (
) in the left-hand menu, then scroll down to Compliance Lenses.
Note: Only Administrators and Managers can create, edit and delete lenses. Lenses are shared across your organisation, so any change applies to everyone who uses the lens.
The list shows each lens with its Name, Description and Associated Records. Associated Records is the number of fields the lens filters on. A field with several values selected counts as one.
Create a lens
In the Compliance Lens section of the Organization Module, click Create Lens in the top right corner.
Enter a Name and a Description. Both are required, and Save stays disabled until you fill them in. Once these are filled, you can proceed to the filter options.
In the Data Series Associations section, you can choose which associated records to pull. Use the dropdown arrow by each category title to expand the menu and see the filters you can use to set up the lens.
Click Save when you're ready and navigate to the Dashboard Module to use it.
💡 Administrators can edit Site Category Names, Issue Categories and Severity Levels, as well as Task Priority to reflect internal priorities.
Edit a Lens
You can edit a lens at any time.
Click the pencil icon next to the lens.
In the Edit Lens window, update the name, description or fields.
Click Save.
Delete a Lens
Click the bin icon next to the lens.
Confirm that you want to delete it.
The lens is removed from the Dashboard for everyone in your organisation.
