Tooltips on Custom Fields

In this article you will get an idea of the new tooltip feature in the Form Builder module to custom fields inside the Human risks Platform.

Updated over 6 months ago

In the Human Risks Platform, our form builder is designed to provide comprehensive and user-friendly solutions to effectively manage and mitigate risks within your organization.

One features of our form builder is the ability to create custom fields with information for your content fields. These tooltips allow you to enhance the usability of your forms by providing users with additional information, such as definitions, steps to follow, and more.

Custom Fields

You can add a question mark symbol ('?') on top of the new custom fields. To add a question mark symbol on top of your content field, follow the steps below:

  1. Go to your platform.

  2. Go to the Form Builder module.

  3. Create a new custom form.

  4. Drag and drop the desired content fields to the center of the page.

  5. Edit the content field and on the right side a new window will open with all the settings of that specific content field.

  6. Scroll down to the tooltip settings and define the text for your tooltip.

Now your content field will have the question mark alongside its name. These question marks serve as user-friendly access points for additional information.

Note: The tooltip will only be visible on reports that are created after implementing the tooltip.

Upon hovering the mouse cursor over the question mark symbol associated with a particular custom field, users will be presented with a tooltip containing valuable information. This information can include:

  • Definitions: Clearly define terms or concepts associated with the custom field, ensuring that users have a common understanding of the data they are providing.

  • Steps to Follow: If the custom field involves a specific process or set of instructions, these tooltips can guide users through the necessary steps, making data entry more intuitive.

  • Tips and Best Practices: Share best practices, tips, or insights that can help users make more informed decisions or provide more accurate data.

  • Warnings and Alerts: In cases where specific actions may have critical implications, use the tooltips to highlight warnings or alerts to ensure user awareness and compliance.
